Steph's Pick | DIY Monthly Development Onesies (Girl edition)

Mar 11, 2011

Some of you may remember my DIY Monthly Development Onesie post back in November. I've had such great feedback from so many of you that I thought I'd create some new girl colored onesie files (yeah - I have girl on the brain - what can I say?!).

But first, a few notes for those who are actually making these...

* First, use the Avery brand labels. Supposedly the other brands are not nearly as good.
* The sizing of the onesies might be the hardest thing to determine. Especially since Gerber brand white onesies are so tiny. I've heard from experience that generally it's best to make the last month, the larger size. So, for example when you might think to make Month 3 a size 0-3 month size onesie, it's probably best to actually make it the 3-6 month size. Make sense?
Click HERE for file (1-6 months)
Click HERE for file (7-12 months).
Alright - I think that's about it!

Good Luck! And please report back if you do end making these... I'd love to hear from you.

Please, please, pretty please would you make these for boys!?! I've been wanting to do these but I'm too frugal to pay for them when I know how easy they are! I just don't have a digital scrapbooking software.

Steph, you must be reading my mind! I have a friend having twin's (one girl and one boy) So the other day I came back to your blog to look up this template. I was a little stumped though b/c I couldn't figure out how to change the colors to do a set for the girl. And ta-da!! Now you have this! Thank you so much! I love following your blog :)

Abby - YES - the idea was from YHL! They photoshop the images to Clara's onesie so this is a bit different - but essentially the same idea.
Teresa - SOOO good to hear from you! Glad I can be of help with your friend's gift. :)

Can you put up the files showing the numbers and words facing the other way? I was thinking of making them into stickers instead of iron-on.

Anonymous - would love to email you those files! Can you email us at alanandsteph@gmail.com?

So with the files that you provided, do I just print these on that iron-on transfer paper?

Thank you so much for the files you provided! I made the first one yesterday for my one month old! Here is the final product!! http://gregandkendra.wordpress.com/2011/11/19/one-month/

GregandKendra - thanks so much for sending your link! Love the picture of your sweet little girl.

The Busy Coconut - so sorry for my late response - yes - with those files you should be able to simply print them on iron on transfer paper. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Paige - if you still need the flipped image feel free to email me and I can email you the file. alanandsteph@gmail.com

Amy - every time I try and email you the templates I get this message:

Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain.

Any chance you have another email address I can try and send it to?

Just found your post while looking for these exact images! Am going to actually use the pattern for puff paints to allow guests to color in on their own at a shower for the mom-to-be. Thanks so much! Love the blog! Great stuff, will have to follow you now!

Hobby Lobby carries a line of sparkly iron-on transfers. I have used them on t-shirts and think I will try and use them for the girl onesies I need to make...add a little more character to them :)

I'm an excited to try this for a baby shower gift! When on the hunt for white oncie's I had a hard time finding good deals to fit in my budget $40 was the averaged cost : (.

After visiting Carters, Target, Kohl's and finally Marshals for the best deal I ended up purchasing a 3pac of Carter brand "baby Pink & white strip", "baby Pink & white polka-dots" and "a white onice." 12 shirts for a total of $26! So excited!

Now my concern is the white numbers will not transfer white but maybe clear? Will the polka-dots / strips show instead of white? Also concerned of the lettering "Months" not showing clear??? Can you please tell me if you would know how this prints on light colored t's? White or clear???
