Nora {aka beaver} has been biting her crib for the past couple months. It's terrible...there are literally chunks of wood gone from the sides of her crib. Crazy, huh?!!!
Have any of you experienced this? If so, what did you do to protect baby and crib??
I haven't been through it with my kids, but I know there are a ton of products at Babies R Us for this kind of thing... gummy ones, fabric ones, plastic ones... Our crib came with a plastic one on it, so maybe that's why we never had the problem?

Most us experience the beaver stage at one point or another! Our crib is sadly covered in bite marks too. I'm not even sure how long it had been going on before I noticed it but we went to Babies R Us and got the Leachco Easy Teether crib rail cover. It looked nice enough that it didn't take away the "cuteness" of teh nursery. :-) Unfortunately though.. it only covers the long side unless you want to buy 3 which at $20/each can be pricey. We tried the rubber ones for the shorter sides that "clip on" but found that they "clip off" pretty easily. And we didn't feel like experimenting with anything else. We took our crib sheet savers and tied them on the other two ends and it worked well for us. With your craftiness, I'm sure you could make something! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe got the rubber ones from babies r us, too. I had to hot glue them down just recently because Elijah kept taking them off. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the exact same thing as Debbie, about not experiencing it and that I know they carry plastic covers in stores. Good luck.

ReplyDeleteWhen Jesse started chewing on the headboard, I just made him wear my old headgear for braces. Worked like a charm. True Story.
ReplyDeleteNot really.
:)
Yep, 2 Crockett beavers here. :)
ReplyDeleteIf you're up for a sewing project, my friend made her own crib protector/teething-bumper things. You can see her pics here: http://blakeandali.blogspot.com/2010/05/what-have-we-been-up-to.html
